238th Marine Corps Birthday Ball, MSG Detachment Beijing, China

The Embassy of The United States of America celebrated the 238th Birthday of the United States Marine Corps, America's most historic military organization.  November 9, 2013 was the date and Renaissance beijing Capital Hotel was the place.  Ambassador Gary Locke was the guest of honor and he gave a touching speech about the history and importance of the US Marines to the safety and security of US Diplomatic Missions around the world, and their heroic deeds performed in the defense of the United States of America and its allies.  The Ceremony continued with a tribute to the Marines and a Marine Corps Color Guard demonstration, followed by an excellent dinner with lots of 1421 Wine, and dancing to a live band.  A good time was had by all and the 500 happy revelers consumed all of the 400 bottles of 1421 Silver Chardonnay and 1421 Gold Cabernet Sauvignon provided.  From Xinjiang, China, 1421 wines were the only wines served at this prestigious event.  We hope to be part of this great celebration again next year!
